I have a set that I used for one season hoping that it would help with the shakes that we had in our trailer, it didn't. If the trailer needed them to support the slide then the manufacture would have provided them I believe.

With your slide all the way out (and properly aligned) it should be sealed all the way around. If you add supports to it and the RV settles (it's a little heavier than the slide ) it could cause the slide to start opening at the top. It would at the very least cause stresses in directions not considered by the manufacturer. Neither would be a good thing.

As another said, if the manufacturer thought they were necessary, they would either include them or mention them in the manuals.

They should come with a disclaimer!

CAUTION! "Use of these slide out stabilizers may cause permanent damage to your slideout!" They can void your manufacturers warranty, cause slide out misalignment issues, leaks, frame damage, etc. Not needed!

Don't need them, in fact my dealer said they can damage your slide.
