I need help ! I just shattered the passenger side window in my 97 Damon Challenger motorhome. Wnet to the glass shop to check on a replacement window and WOW.....$779.00 and thats not including installation. They called Shipps RV in Chattanooga, Tn and that was the price they gave them. That seems mighty steep, what do you all think ? That was for the full replacement of all three windows in that frame. I live in NE Alabama. does anyone have any reccomendations on where i might find the window cheaper or is that the going rate. Any info would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

If the glass is all you need, they should be able to replace just that, though it's a pain because of tempering.
I buy glass from these people (though I don't do much of that). Might check them out.

As long as it isn't a windshield you should be able to have a regular glass shop make a new window. You need to look for a HOME AND BUSINESS glass shop (not auto or RV places). They will need the frame, then cut glass to fit and if they can't temper the glass they CAN send it out to get it tempered (once tempered, it can't be cut). Most Dept of Transportaions will require the glazing to be tempered, front windshields must be safety glass (two sheets of glass with plastic layer in between and tempered). They will also color match the glass.

I had this done for my TT, Allrite wanted over $450 for window about the same size, cost me $25 at local glass shop.

Thanks for the website. I am going to get all the info and send to them and get an estimate. The auto glass shop I went to had told me that i would have to put a tempered glass back in for safety reasons, and thats fine by me. I just would like to get one thats a little more affordable. Thanks for the info and if anyone else has anything, please send it my way.

Try to get just the glass that broke from the manufacturer of the glass. They could have been made by Atwood or Hehr.

You might give Colaw a call in Carthridge, Mo. They deal with lots of used rv parts. They may have a replacement that you can install.

Do a Google search for Colaw parts in Carthridge, Mo and you'll find them. Fine folks.
