I am wanting to have a spray in bed liner put on my truck but I am not sure which company to go with. The two companies I am familiar with are RhinoLinings and X-Liner. I would like to know which one you like best and what experiences good or bad you have had with these companies? How has the product held up? Also I may upgrade to a 5ver at some point are there any issues with having a spray in liner and installing a 5th wheel hitch? How closely can they match the color to the color of your truck?

Thanks

I had the Li_ne-X sprayed in my Silverado and I like it. My old 03 Silverado had R_hino Linings and it was a sloppy thick gunked up look.

I dropped something hard in it one day and it chipped. The Li_ne-X is much better as far as looks and durability in my experience with the product.

Just for a note, my friends RL chipped also.

As far as color, they can match it almost perfectly. I really can't see it getting in the way of a hitch, but then again, R_Linings was REAL thick. May have to use longer bolts if they give you "just long enough" bolts.

I went with Linex twice. Has held up extremely well, does get a little color fade after time in the sun but not unsightly.

I choose it over Rhino Liner for several reasons:

I liked the spray pattern (looked liked what an OEM product would be)
Rhino Liner seemed a bit more random and inconsistant

After application it is plyable but not rubbery as some Rhino Liners I have seen over time.

Linex seems to have an "even" thickness, Rhino Liner appears random

You can color it.

Seems to fade alot less then Rhino Liner.

Never really heard of either one not performing it's function well(as-intended!) So, I think you'll find it more of personal preference due mostly to appearance

I have had both and the Rhino held up much better than the Linex. I used to haul engines, rocks, you name it and the Rhino held up very well. The Linex
chipped when I hauled some big rocks when the Guys threw the big rocks onto the bed

95% of most forums have repeat topics and posts. SO WHAT!
Things change, opinions change, new info comes available, I can't stand all the go search na-sayer posts. If that's how some people really feel they need to read books instead of using an interactive internet. Sorry for the rant but what's the big deal if someone asks something twice or more. Most of the old people camping these days do it on a regular basis anyhow. Nobody asked you to read it twice, you elected to. Give the guy a break, he's just looking for the most current advise/opinion.

Rhino Liner is a lot softer and things tend to slide around less but Line X has a life time warranty. It starts out bad and is guaranteed to STAY bad forever. Your call which would work best for you. Either one beats the HECK out of a plastic insert but falls way short of the Bed Rug Liner (which would be my first choice, having a covered bed) Good luck / Skip

I disagree with this opinion and offer my own: the line-X liner is hard but is very, very rough like sandpaper. Things don't slide around very much at all. As for the Bed Rug liner - I really don't want anything against my bed that could allow trash under it and start rusting away the bed. That's why I took out the OEM plastic liner and put in a line-x in the first place. I know a lot of people like the bed rugs but the first time you haul some gravel, or concrete sacks, or etc and spill some it's going to work under there and stay under there eating away the paint and letting in moisture.

Oh, and what do you think dog hair does to a bed rug?

I only had the Rhino in an old nissan. I had the truck for 5 years and the dealer told me they put the Rhino in to fix the rust problem in the bed of the truck. Well I hauled everything from broken up concrete to gravel to topsoil. I never had a problem. I have not put the Rhino in my new truck yet but I plan to.
Also with my old Nissan truck I had a lug wrench the + kind in the middle of the bed and it never moved. It was always in the middle of the bed.
I have seen the line-x and it also looks good. But the prices in my area are the same so I will go with the Rhino.
Good luck and I am sure you will be happy with either one.

I have a early 99 superduty have had a rhino liner in it since day one , that will be ten years in July,it is in just as good as shape as the day it was sprayed, its faded a bit, but does not bother me. plus its had a fifth hitch bolted on top of it for the past three years. Where this chipping and what have you comes from I will never know I have slid everthing from wood to angle iron on it other then slight abrasion, there are no chips cracks or rips.
