We survived out first time out in the TT (Jayco 28BHS). Discovered that if it is cold you really should use your furnace.....didn't sleep the first night as we were just too cold.
Discovered....if you have paid for the electricity then you can and should use it (brought an electric heater but didn't use it the first night)
Discovered....in our trailer you just can't have the electric heater running when you use the toaster (popped the breaker)
Discovered....dog can actually break the leash when she see's something worth chasing up a tree (Pine Martin)
Discovered....it is actually better to be parked a bit away from the lake when it is cold and the wind is blowing from the lake
Discovered...it is just totally relaxing, beautiful and fun, fun, fun to go camping even when it is cold and rainy!
We will definitely do it again soon...

Check if there's another receptacle circuit. You can use one heavy load on each circuit.

I'm free of prostate cancer for 5 years now.
All men over age 50 should get an annual PSA blood test. Mine had a low reading, but the yearly jump was significant. The biopsy showed cancer just entering the aggressive stage. Dr. Hackenslash removed it.

We got our 20BH in Mar 2006. Our shakedown trip was about 20 miles from home at a CG that used to be a KOA just S of Birmingham, AL. We learned how the heater worked mid-way through that Fri night when the temp dropped into the hi 30's. It stayed overcast and chilly all weekend but we were so happy to be camping in our new TT we barely noticed. The heater worked good all weekend.

Last trip out was to Paul B Johnson SP in Hattiesburg, MS. Again mid-March and we were on a lakeside site with a very cool and strong landward breeze all 4 days. The heater was very nice about 1am that first night.

But as you said it don't matter when you're camping, it's always a good day.

Congratulations on the survival and welcome to the wonderful world of friendship on the road. I chuckled at your post as probably all have done the same thing at one time or another. There are a lot of good folks on this forum and will have a lot of advice which you will have to choose which is right for you. Happy Camping and again Welcome.

Congrats on your new tt. We also picked up our new Jayco 28bhs back in March and have already been out 3x and leaving out again tomorrow. I LOVE all the storage our new tt has compared to our older one. Each trip should get a little easier.
