Oil has hit the $70.00 mark and RBOB is at the $2.00 mark. Guess we'll have lots more complaining in July when the pump prices will reflect these current Futures prices.
I think I'll stock up on cheese.

US wholesale gasoline prices drop 11 cents on the futures market June 19, 2009 for delivery on July 9, they are now about $1.93US a gallon. They should keep dropping unless the shipments get disrupted by some action that would effect supply. We should be back to around $2.50US a gallon for summer. Those 8 MPG RV's now cost about 34 cents a mile to drive and it should drop to just over 31 cents per mile for gasoline. Diesel owners are the big winners this summer, as diesel remains less tha gasoline, and they get about 30% better MPG. Diesels now cost about 21 cents a mile to drive, that's about 33% less than it cost to run a gasoline RV. We are just about a year away from all the fuel pumps for on the road diesels to have only ULSD. Trains can still use the LSD until 2025. Off road diesel will also be just ULSD but will still be a different color than on road diesel, as it is illegal to run on road vehicles with off road diesel. That's because off road diesel is not subject to all the taxes that on road diesel is.

Yup. Been watching the fluctuation the last couple of days, RBOB and wondering if the slight down turn will fizzle out. Not holding my breath but keeping fingers crossed.

This trouble in Iran could also cause an increase in oil prices. 40% of the world's shipped oil goes right past them.

Gas prices in central Minnesota were $2.42 a gallon. Up here they dropped from $2.67 to $2.65 to $2.61 over the past few days. If the Cap and Trade bill gets through the Senate (now that the House passed it at O' Dark Thirty Saturday morning), the price of fuel, IMHO, will go up like a skyrocket. I wanna cry for the good ol' USA.

Slowly, very slowly, the price of gasoline is retreating. Down to $2.51 at Sam's Club.
