A friend of mine stayed at this park a while back in a spot without full hookups. When he left they charged him $5 to dump his tanks. Sorry, but I won't be visiting this campground.
The prices around Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Townsend area are getting outrageous. I would rather stay at Cades Cove if it's not too hot or maybe at River Plantation in Sevierville and drive to Townsend and Cades Cove.
This WAS one of our favorite campgrounds. I am very disappointed at the rate increases. They have now priced it out of my range. You would think with increased gas prices that they would try to intice us with lower rates.
I told them they could keep their $75. Bad thing is, with a full campground, they couldn't care less if they have MY business.

There is a sucker born every minute, or in this case, a CG full of them.

It is like the empty seat on an airplane, the plane has to fly anyway so whatever you get for that spot is better than nothing. SpoiledRotten is correct, you have a sale to get people in the door, show them what you have to offer and then "earn" their business.

I am thinking that is close to what I paid last Oct Nov timeframe for a riverfront site with full hookup. That included the daily upcharge for number of kiddies I had etc. We were there four nights and it was around $260 tax title and tax.....
Still a LOT cheaper than WDW Fort Wilderness

We cancelled right away...I don't know how they can justify this increase. Even with the gas prices, all the other area campgrounds have not raised their rates this much, actually not even close! They were always one of the higher campgrounds around the area, but we love it there so much that we would pay the $42.00 rate...now forget it! I don't care how much we love it there, we won't pay that to camp. The saying is true KOA STANDS FOR KEEP ON ADDING! They have done that for sure.
I hate to here that. It was a favorite campground of mine too. It was always clean and a beautiful area to stay in. We enjoyed the river camp sites. Oh well time to go somewhere else. Maybe Koa stands for KISS OUR, Well I will let you finish the rest. $65 dollars is way to much.
