Hi, I'm heading from NJ to Rochester, Minn. leaving Sat. am., right now looks like I'm heading west on 80 and then moving onto Rt.90 at Chicago, looks like I pass right by O'Hare which could be a problem this weekend, what's the thought on that this busy weekend?, or just head further west on 80 and pick up 35 north to 90., appreciate the input,

bob

Going through Chicago this weekend should not be any problem. Most of the traffic will be tonight and Monday evening/night.

Except of course there's construction - major work on I-294 (tollway around Chicago, which goes right by O'Hare as well). Not sure about 90. Personally, I'd opt for the 80-to-39-to-90 route, myself. A little construction on 39 just south of the WI border, but it doesn't last too long.

I second the I-39 to I-90 route. Going all the way to I-35 in Iowa would be a waste of time and money.
