Have called all over to check rates, and GMAC wins hands down, both for price and coverage, Went with all my vehicles their and am totally satisfied. Now,their are differant coverage prices depending on your location, but you would be crazy not to at least make a phone call. I'm sure glad I did.

I checked with GEICO a couple of months ago and they did not cover full time RVers - said they were working on it.

We have been with Geico for our cars (two) for about 5 years now. They have been great. So when we heard about the news of now insuring RV's we jumped on it.

We have a 2006 Winnebago Journey DP. We have 100/300 coverages, replacement costs, 1000 ded., contents, etc. Needless to say, our premium dropped from $1600+ per year to just over $1000 per year with Geico. VERY HAPPY!

Call Geico for a quote - they surely saved us $600 per year (or almost 2 tanks of diesel!)

Progressive was the least expensive with the best coverage.

I have GIECO for all our vehicles. I haven't had to use them (knock on wood) so don't know about claims, but found it most cost effective for us.

For what it is worth, I for one wish to know that where ever I happen to be driving, parked, or sleeping, I can reach face to face a real person and get service that works. Talking over the phone, in a chat room full of out of the country sales agents is not my bag of tea.. Maybe I spend a few bucks more, but I didn't buy my cars, home, rv or my fishing rod over the phone. Something about seeing the whites of the agents eyes goes a long way to making a good choice.. Again, I prefer a sitdown with the folks I send the check to. YOU WILL NEVER KNOW HOW WELL YOU ARE INSURED UNTIL IT IS NEEDED...
Sometimes you don't get what you think you paid for..

What RV insurance do you have that you can get from a local agent, and what good does it do if you're 3000 miles away when you have a problem?

And what if you're a fulltimer?
