Yep... notice it... slow down and save fuel. I do the same and typically never travel over 60 mph. I have seen as much as a 15% fuel savings by slowing from 70 to 60.

I-24 in Middle Tennesse...nothing has changed...you might get to pass a big truck every once in a while, but for the most part they are still blasting down the road speeding.

Same west of Nashville. This area is the home of the drive faster so the engine runs fewer hours to save gas.

While driving on I-95 North in Florida I was constantly being passed, and not slowly. They blew by me! I was driving 60 and they had to have been going at least 70! Guess it depends on what part of the country your in.

So then eventually they'll say they have to increase gas & other taxes to make up for lost revenue from fines... Ya can't win!

They did a story on CNN about trucks driving slower, a few weeks ago.
me the BIGGEST thing I have notice here in Southern Commiefornia is that the roads are barren. Places that have had traffic jams for 25 years now no longer do. Freeways that used to be bumper to bumper, you can now do donuts driving down the freeway.
So another benefit of high fuel - we don't have to build more freeways, what we have all of a sudden is just fine.

The bigger company trucks are going slower but most of the independents seem to be traveling fast as always. I have only traveled the west and California is the only state that seems to have a handle on speeding trucks with their 55 mph speed limit for trucks. Whether its on the 5 or Hwy 99 most of the trucks stay pretty close to 55mph.
