We have all out insurance with State Farm, home owners, rental house, cars and truck, and have for 40 years, but when I talked with them about our used motor home, they wanted to value it at new prices, they did look at it and it does look almost new, but we didn't pay $54K for it, and I told them what we did pay for it with the paper work, but that's what they insisted on valuing it at. I asked if I totaled it tomorrow would you pay me $54K, and they said no, so I asked my agent to check his figures, and call me soon and left.
The next day after not hearing from him, I called Progressive, and had the same coverage in 10 min for 60% less than what State Farm wanted.
But since then, on a new pickup truck, state Farm beat out Progressive, so go figure.
Over the years, I have found that large insurance co, are only as good as your agent is. And they vary a lot. But I like Progressive.

Your best bet is to add it on your auto policy as an "additional insured vehicle".
The advantages are that you have better control of how you want it covered and when you want it covered--if collision is not an issue, while it is stored you can remove collision coverage, cutting the premium in half--leave the comprehensive on it. In most cases, this will be the less expensive route for a TT. Be aware that most of your personal contents in the TT will be covered for fire, smoke, theft, vandalism, etc. under your off premise personal property coverage on your homeowners policy (subject to the deductible).
Liability and medical will be extended from your auto policy.
Kind of a no-brainer. A stand alone policy on a TT can be both hard to find and unnecessarily expensive.
I have AARP thru the Hartford. In 2004 I totaled my truck and TT on the first trip. I was satisfied with their settlement although their rental car allowance was pretty chincy. Better price than Good Sam.
I agree with Progressive's claim handling...nothing but praise the one time I needed it....might be better rates, but not by much....

I went thru AON and have National Interstate. Last week, a storm toppled my neighbor's pine tree onto my "classic" (1985) Holiday Rambler Imperial and crushed it and the shed. It was insured for almost $16K and had the $5K disappearing deductible which I met years ago. The adjuster came out last Saturday and determined it's a total loss...ya think(?). Be interesting to see what figure they come up with to settle with me.
