I've been going crazy trying to find a repair or service manual for my 1986 P30 doing Google searches.

Can someone here please help me to find a source for such a book, CD, or online service?

Thanks,

My RV mechanic has one. He said it cost him $300. I've looked at it but it's not $300 good. You might try Chilton's manuals and see if they have it.

This one is from Europe on cd. The guy has pretty good feedback, only $11 so it's not like a major loss if it turns out to be a bust.

You can also get a pickup manual for that year, it will cover 95% of what you need. Everything on the P30 is just a little bigger.

If I remember correctly the factory manuals are published by Helm, Inc. now. I can't get the site to load, but if you Google it will come up.

I looked at one of the links given. About the closest thing I can find there, which seems somewhat specific, is this one. Does that look close to what I have?

And, I'll try to get the Helm site to come up. I have a Honda Goldwing CD manual which came from Helm.

Thanks.

Chilton has a manual that covers Full size vans for General Motors including MH Chassis. It is not perfect, but better than nothing. Covers 87-97. I think it was around 25 bucks. It's # is 28642.

That is one of the factory manuals. There are 3 in a set, that is the service manual. It basically tells how to do on vehicle repairs, brakes, tune up, suspension. There is a unit repair manual, how to rebuild the engine, trans, axle, etc. Third is the wiring manual. The set was about $135.

If you are seriously thinking of buying the one in the link consider the set. The schematics are really worth it alone. It won't help with house wiring, but save hours of chasing when you have a problem. Plus the unit repair manual is nice if you ever have to tear into anything, or just wonder if it is working right.

Also, the one you linked to is for a medium duty. Front suspension is a solid axle, it won't cover anything about the independent suspension. Look for something lighter.

Ok, let's see... bottom up.

Musicman - I tried the link you gave. Good site, but didn't return anything for the 1986 P chassis.

rnr42005 - Thanks for the offer. I'll send you the PM shortly.

itsalleasy - The book I found is a used item and probably one of a kind out of the set. If it doesn't cover what I want because it is for a Medium Duty vehicle (don't really know what that means, but it seemed to me that the P30 chassis was a medium duty chassis when I was selecting criteria), I won't persue it.

I wish I had names to call you all... but thanks for the help.

I open the dog house or crawl under there and see stuff - wondering, "what's that thing," or "where does that wire go?" It seems like it would be a good thing for me to have some kind of reference on the 454, transmission, and basic chassis of that year. All the rest of the Holiday Rambler stuff is just a mystery and would have to be doped out on an event by event basis if something needed to be figured out. I hope I expressed my need and interest a little bit better.

Thanks again.

SNIP

I got the 95 P30 manual from that site (Helm Inc) but had to send them an email asking for the correct number because I had no luck finding it. They answered me right away. Total cost for the set of (as I recall) five books was about $150 or so.
