just leave it open... these new valves will stave the flow if a sudden surge of pressure occurs...
I dont worry about my fridge tho, we drive for 5 to 12 hours a day, in that time the fridge is not on, but its also not being opened, nothing ever thaws out and my my mix is perfectly chilled on arrival at the next over night stop

There is a slight increase in danger if traveling with propane on
The fridge, if locked closed, should keep food cold for 6-10 hours (Exact time varies from unit to unit and under different conditions)
What I do depends on several factors... I've traveled both ways
On a trailer I'd keep 'em off though. Or to be more precise.. On the trailers I used to have I kept 'em off
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

I leave mine open... same as the gas line to the truck engine... always open. That's how I get to my destination without running out of gas!!

Make it 8-3. I turn mine off only when refilling it.
I have an older 3-way fridge that automatically will use AC if it's available; when it's not plugged in, the default is gas not 12v. It might go to 12v if I ran out of propane, but otherwise the 12v is used only if I select it deliberately.

What stats are you going by?
RV systems are designed, built and certified to be on while driving, just like gasoline, diesel and propane powered vehicles.
