Just got a letter from the Police. The Illinois Department of Transportation, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, The Village of Gurnee, Illinois and the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police Traffic Committee have awarded me the Illinois "Saved by the Safety Belt" award.

This is because the auto accident I had in Jan 2001, I was wearing my safety belt which saved me from really getting mangled or killed.

A plaque for the wall.Cool.Always wear mine,guess it was from a few million miles of truck driving.Sometimes even put it on in the yard moving the vehicles around.Old habits die hard.

Not a plaque but a certificate and a medallion. Never used to wear one until I joined the Navy in '86. I can't think of anytime I've driven since then when I haven't put it on.
