Be interested to hear if water pools where the tent top jons the trailer body. From the pictures it looks like the water runs from the tent to the trailer.

Since we started camping early may of this year every weekend had rained.

The first weekend we had the cub it rained the whole three days. No water pooling.

I am sure it will rain agian this weekend, so I will double check.

When I was looking at cubs, I had asked that same question. The dealer pointed out that the engineers created a drain spout that is goes down a pipe along the edge of the edges straight down under the frame, sight unseen. It was the same concept of the trunk of an automobile so minimal runoff rain makes it in the trunk from the back when opened. It looked cool, but the overall they were not what we were looking for even though the dealer is about 10 min. from home.

So we just got home with the new trailer and we LOVE it. Not to happy with the dealership.

It's a long story and I am still to mad to talk about it, but I wouldn't recommend Heidi's RV Superstore to ANYONE, not even my worst enemy.

That is too bad about Heidi's, Elizabeth. That is where we bought our trailer and we had nothing but great things to say about this dealership. Any problem we have had, they fixed right away and the service staff were wonderful to deal with.
Hopefully things will not require you to have to go there to much. Have fun camping, that is all that counts.

They were HORRIBLE. Just for exsample. When we purchased our 280 Pony from Georgetown RV we had a 2 hour walk thru, with Hiedi's I it was about 15 minutes.

They asked us to be at thier service centre at 8 am (we were driving from Burlington). We showed up at 7:45 as to not hold anyone up... We didn't get the trailer until after noon. We ended up taking out our camping chairs and setting them up in the parking lot. We just sat there and watch the trailer (which apparently was being cleaned, but unless they had mini elves that can not be seen with the naked eye....) We also sat there and listened to our three dogs (one old and blind) bark because they took our TV into their service department before we had a chance to take the dogs out. The dogs sat in thier crates and barked from 8 am to almost 1 pm. They wouldn't let us in the service department (which I understand) to get the dogs. The oldest one was shaking for the rest of the weekend and couldn't settle down.

We camped at thier campground for the whole weekend and not once did some one come to say Hi and see if we had any quesitons. It would have been a nice way to close the sale BECAUSE WE HAD TONS OF QUESTIONS.

Oh, and lets not forget that they didn't have our ownership ready that day so they said they would mail it. Three weeks later I called to see where it was, and sure enought, it was on a random clip board waiting to be put in the "out" box.

I could go on, and on, and on... and I am sure my grammer and spelling for this post is horrible because I am still that mad.

I have contact a local Thor dealer (but doesn't have the Cub line) and they will be more then happy to handle our warranty work if there is any. I guess they understand that almost ever RV'er will upgrade at some point. I guess Hiedi's doesn't seem to care.

Nice - Hybrids are so great. We love ours - even out here on the "Wet Coast" I have yet to pack up in the wet! Even so, they are so much easier and still feel like camping. Have fun out there!

I have noticed that most of you have the Bunk End Gizmos. I was wondering if they would work on the Therm-A-Rest bunk ends?

There is a picture of what I am talking about on page 3.

I'd email or call the guy at popupgizmos to get your answer. I've read on here that he's excellent with customer support.

Question - which way does the roll off the middle of the tent end? Does it travel back toward the camper from the high point in the middle???

Ok, firstly, I have no idea what you are talking about when you mention bunk end gizmos. I went to the PDF, went to page three, and nadda. I have a 2008 Cub with the Therma rest ends, and just pop it out and make the beds..am I missing something here LOL!?

Secondly we also had a fantastic two hour PDI and tutorial by seasoned and informative staff here on the right coast. Sorry your experience sucked.

We just got back from a fantastic "shake down" weekend, and are well pleased with the Cub. Two of us and a normally shaky old dog. He took to the new digs like a fish to water, and experienced no drama whatsoever. We Were fortunate enough to be able to throw the entire gamut at the wee rig! We traversed some shaky roads with huge bumps to get to Caribou Monroe Provincial park here in Nova Scotia. It is about 10 minutes from the Ferry terminal to PEI. We came from Coldbrook in the Annapolis valley, and took the 100 series highways most of the way. It monsooned all night Friday night, but let up in time for Saturday. Some more cloud bursts in the early afternoon gave away to a magnificent afternoon and evening. This morning we packed up and headed for home. The only thing that happened was that we lost the cover to the outside light somewhere between here and there. I only experienced one moment of slight sway ('07 F-150 5.4 with hidden hitch) when we thumped over a huge drop on a bridge at 110kph while heading into a slight turn. Everything stayed where it was put, and nothing broke. We especially were impressed on how long the battery lasted. It still read "full charge" when we left. Of course we did not stress it all that much as we did not turn on lights at night, nor played music or watched tv/laptop. We thought the pump would have drained it significantly, as we were on the ocean, the dog and I got regular showers, so I was impressed. Oh ya, showers..outside fantastic, inside kinda dribley. Good for cold weather/inclement showering only...what we expected, no grumbles. The first time the pumps came on I jumped. Sounds like a Jacobs brake on a semi trailer LOL! We knew that going in though, and treat as a novelty. We have decided to just leave the pumps off at night in case someone does need to use to use the heads...we will keep a small pail of water in the shower stall for such contingencies...the pump is loud enough to get you in trouble during quiet hours

All in all we were impressed with our first Cub and RV experience. Tracked well, did not leak or break, and easy to manoeuvre and set up.

if you want to click on the link that misterd had posted, you can find out all about them.

a lot of hybrid owners cover their canvas bunk ends with popup gizmos or the non-custom version, solar blankets(from REI, Cabelas, Campmor).
these provide a number of advantages. they primarily help with the bunk end temperatures, hot or cold. they also help keep the canvas/vinyl clean and stain-free. they also help darken the end for afternoon naps.

what's being asked is: can these new Thermarest bunks use them, because of their different design. the regular style bunks are similar to those on popups. therefore, the custom-fitted popup gizmos or solar blankets will work on hybrids.
