Many folks here have had good luck with E-Trailer.
Free shipping if your order is over $150 (which it would be, just barely, for two bars).

Yep, just ordered some 1200's for $139 for the set with chains, added a new ball to get the free shipping. Etrailer is the way to go.

Another happy etrailer customer here. Nice people to deal with, and very good prices.

I have ordered from e-trailer a few times over the last few years and they are always great to deal with, have good prices, very fair shipping rates, and on-time delivery.

I have decided that I need to get some new spring bars. I currently have the Reese Dual Cam system with 800 lb bars which worked fine with our last trailer but now my tongue weight is 750 "dry" so I know I'm over 800 lbs. I was thinking about going with the 1,000 lb bars but don't see them listed on the E-Trailer link above. So now I have 2 questions:

1) Are the 1,000 lb bars still available?
2) Do I bother with the 1,000 lbs or just go with the 1,200 lb ones?

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, 1000# bar are still available but are in the round bar configuration. I am assuming you have trunnion bars since you said your previous bars were 800# and the next size up for trunnion bars is 1200#. For that trailer, I would go with the 1200# bars anyway. Your tongue weight is very likely going to be over 1000# when you are loaded and ready to travel.

Barney,

Thanks, yes I have the trunnion bars and wondered if I should just go with the 1,200s just to avoid having to buy new ones again in the future. I checked out E-Trailer that was listed above and they seem to have a pretty good deal on them. I called a couple of local places that wanted ~$20 more each. I've got one more place to check out and then I will get them.

Thanks,
Mike
