To the man who bought the Montana because the drawer sides were unfinished. I guess you don"t know much about wood. Our drawer sides are unfinished "Multi ply Birch Plywood which is quite expensive as compared to finished particleboard. No question that the multiply is much stronger and will last a lot longer.
We have been fulltiming in our Cruiser for over 3 years and have been quite happy with the fit and finish. The drawers still work well. No knock on the Montana but I think that Crossroads gives the most bang for the buck and their service is tops.

We bought our Cruiser new 2 years ago and except for all the plumbing issues, electrical problems, bad wheel bearing seals, slide problems, roof leaks, hot water heater failure, frig failure, AC problems, bad inverter, leaks in rear wall, leaks in front, leaking shower faucet, bad wiring, etc., etc., we like it a lot.
Climb up on top and walk around on the roof, that should tell you everything you need to know.
Oh yea, the water in the rear wall was from the fresh water fill pipe that they didn't have time to connect to the tank during the speedy manufacturing process. Don't kid yourself, these are entry level units, that's why they are so cheap.

But yet you still have it ?....every brand has a lemon...just because you got one doesn't mean everybody did. We have never had to go back to our dealer for any issue on either of our Cruisers in 3 years. Have been on the roof numerous times for cleaning...never had a problem.

Wow...sounds like Dude got the lemon in the bunch.
We have a 2006 CK29RK and love it. Sure, there were some minor issues that were taken care of by Crossroads with no problems.
Of course, weighing only 140 lbs., no problems walking on the roof.
the only eledctrical problem was the 30 amp main and 20 amp A/C on the same double breaker, so I installed a seperate 20/ 20 amp spare breaker and moved the A/C to the new breaker...no more problems.
And this will be our last camper, as we are quite satisfied with it.

I ordered a Cruiser 3 years ago from RV Wholesalers and anxiously awaited for it to be manufactured and delivered. I took a week of vacation for the week after I was supposed to get it, and they assured me it was ready and would be delivered on time. BUT...the day came and no call, no RV. When I finally reached them 2 days later, they said they were waiting on a part and it would take several days. I canceled my order and got my money back.
I think they build a decent unit for the price, but I have heard of problems. But at some point many of them have problems.
I ended up making a big mistake and buying a new Forest River Wildcat. What a piece of junk! I will never buy an FR product again. After onhe year I traded it off (at great loss) and bought the right unit - a NuWa Hitchiker. I smile every time I see it!

Our Cruiser is 4 yrs old, we are in it about 50% of the year and very happy with the product and Crossroads. Our last big trip was over 10k miles, now we are doing volunteer work and the Cruiser is parked for weeks at a camp just 15 miles from home.
When it comes to major components like water heaters, inverters, frigs, A/Cs, ovens, axles etc., there are typically only two sources of those components and all the manufacturers use one or the other. So, if a source has a problem, then any RV brand can be affected, like the Dometic frig recall that is frig model specific, not RV manufacturer specific.

Dayle1 makes a great point - really your shopping for the one that is "assembled" the best of the bunch for the price. I think, IMHO that Crossroads products are built with features and build that can cost a lot more in other units.

I had no problem with the cruiser other than the what I saw. Just as I said, what I saw in the units I looked at was very rough cut, through knots and all the top edges of the drawers were like barn boards in my opinion. I really wanted the Kingston, but it too was not finished as I thought was proper. The Montana, like most everything we purchase was just what we had been looking for for over two years. We looked from Portland Oregon to Chilliwack, BC. We checked prices on line and over the phone all over the west coast and even mid-west. When we narrowed it down to the 3000RK we found the best price at Tacoma RV but they did not have any of the early 08 ones. The next best price we found was at CW in Burlington, near the Cruiser dealer. What ever one buys if it is what they are happy with, it is the right unit for them.
