If it is a tow vehicle (TV) then it is an emergency road service call!

If you are parked in a campground and not on the road....it is not an emergency, therefore he should have been able to wait one day. ERS is just that Emergency Roadside Service. Sorry, But I agree with Good Sams on this one.
I read that to mean they are either in a camp ground or still at home. If so I don't blame GS for saying wait until tomorrow. If they were on the raod somewhere I bet it would be a different story.snip
Nonsense, when I wanted to leave the campground once, the jack wouldn't retract. are you telling me that I should stay an extra night, and throw my entire schedule off because they didn't want to come out and do what I was paying them for?

I will repeat what I have posted before here. when I had my blowout, the fellas that responded said that Coach Net was the only outfit that they didn't demand money up front from me for.

I have used Good Sam ERS. The tow truck driver went way out of his way to make us happy. No money up front. Towed my pickup to one dealer who didn't work on diesels so he towed us to another dealer who did. Then the next day Good Sam ERS called me back to make sure we were taken care of. Very happy with the service.
Just my 2cents.

Well, in all the years that we have been RV'ers, we have been very lucky, as we have never had a Flate Tire or a Blow-out. We have also never broken down in the Past 40+ years or RV'ing. I am a total nut case about Proventive Maintence on our 5er and our F-250 PSD also. We also use a Tire Monitorning System also. We are also nut case about good Brakes and Tires. We also are Good Sam ERS Menbers. We also carry "AAA" Extended Road Service also, that allows for towing the TV up to 100 miles. As I said, we have been very lucky. Plus I was an OTR Trucker for 15 years, and have learned to really pay attention to anything on the roads that could cause tire damage. For what it costs to have both coverages, we fell that it is well worth the cost to have two protection services while we travel. I think there is more to this story also. As Good Sam ERS does state, that there is aviable coverage 24/7, 365 days of the year. I would have called back a second or a third time, as you more than likely would have gotten a different person each time, as there are many Good Sam operators working , not just one at a time. Thats another reason besides doing a complete Proventive Maintence Inspection on both the 5er and the Tv every singal year, with-out fail. That is why I also do all of my own work on every RV that we have ever owned and any truck that we have owned over the years. We also carry enought tools, to handle most any problem while traveling. Just in case we ever need them or in an area, where the cell phone doesn't work. Good Luck. Happy Camping. Dan & Jill

that reminds me, when my Bounder was towed years back, don't remember what plan I had, the first place it was towed to didn't work on motorhomes or some such. I was warned to NOT let the tow truck driver drop the motorhome before all was in order. Good advice as I probably would have been denied towing it elsewhere under the same cost.

I have used GS several times and haven't had much trouble with the tow services, but their office staff are idiots. I have been put on hold for up to 25 minutes. I called in for service after a TT blowout and the person at GS did not know where Seattle was. They tried to send me a tow company from Bellingham which is on the other side of the state from where I was. They also did not know where Coeur d'Alene, ID was. Haven't they heard of Mapquest? I once waited several hours for help to get unstuck from the snow (on Memorial day) on a USFS road #612. After finally getting connected directly to the tow company, it turns out that GS kept trying to send them to "612 Forest Lane" The poor truck driver had gone to every road in the county with "Forest" in it. I have run into this same ignorance from GS for 18 years. I stay with them because they cover all my vehicles, including my Goldwing and they will send a tow into the outbacks where we typically have a problem. AAA and others will only help if you are on or near a paved road. I have never been asked for a dime from the tow companies. Every driver I have asked said they like GS calls.
