Have had nothing but great service from GS ERS over the last 10 years - at least once every year, including weekends and holidays! I, with others, suspect they called the GS office # and not ERS.

I have used Good Sam ERS twice, once for a flat tire and once for a major breakdown in the mountains of Colorado. They came through for me with flying colors on both occasions. I have nothing but praise for Good Sam ERS.

1) He called the correct number.
2) He was in a RV park.
3) He was told that because he was not on the road and was in a safe spot, they would not tow him to a dealer on a weekend or holiday.
4) He missed work because they would not get him to a dealer when he called, so the dealer didn't know anything about it until the truck arrived this AM.
5) The tow truck did not show up till after 9 AM, as it had to come from 75 miles away because the locals will not tow for GS.

This is all I know from talking to the person that called GS.

Some have had good service from Good Sam. The one time I needed them they left me on the side of the road and couldn,t have cared less. Now I couldn.t care less about them. I tell everyone I can as often as I can about what they did to me and what they will do to you some day when you really need what you pay them to do. As for me, they will never get another chance. My greatest pleasure would be to put Good Sam out of business.

Bumpyroad, if they did to you what they did to me, you would be mad too. Where in Virginia are you? I used to live in Abingdon, loved it there, but had to come back here account of being transfered.

If the person with the disabled tow vehicle was not happy with Good Sam, why didn't he just call the dealer and have them tow the vehicle. Then turn the bill over to his vehicle insurance. While I understand the perceived problem with Good Sam, if you are parked and safe in a campground, then it was not an emergency.
I am sorry he missed work, but that may have happened too, if the dealer was closed for the holiday.

yeah, just keep filing claims against your automobile insurance and watch your rates climb. one buys RV insurance for that purpose. and I don't believe that my vehicle insurance would pay a claim on my RV.

You can elect to have towing insurance as a rider on your automotive insurance. I have that rider on my automotive insurance. It does have a limit what it will pay, but if I needed to have a tow vehicle taken to a dealer/garage for repair, it would be another avenue to explore. You should know what your insurance will pay if your vehicle becomes disabled, including lock outs. If I need to file a claim against my insurance for something, I am not concerned about rising rates.
