Several years ago I was about 2 blocks from home and ther was this mildly chopped shovel head Harley on the side of the road. His points froze and fried his coil.
I drove home and got my utility trailer. We loaded up the bike and I drove him 10 miles to his home. He wanted to pay but I just told hime to help some one else when they needed it.
Karma. Another time I broke down and I got help. There are still good people out there.

The first time we took our Endura out we were towing the Tahoe behind it. Long story short, one of the arms of the tow bar assembly wouldn't lock in place (gear tooth was broken or something like that). While we stood there (thankfully in a rest area) contemplating how to fix it, another RVer and a trucker came over to help. With the help of them, an allen wrench and duct tape we were soon on our way. Pay it forward.

Hi all. Nice to see there are so many other stories like mine. Kinda warms the heart. I have always stopped to help others, and will continue to do so. To all that were wondering, it was a bad fuel injection sensor, covered under warranty.

WE had a fellow dog show RV'er take a wrong turn on the outskirts of the show site and buried their Class A up to the running boards in mud, an hour from show time. Where they were at a tow truck could not get in to help them. I offered a tow strap. (those things will kill ya, it snapped right in half first pull).
DW was hysterical so a fellow RV'er offered the use of their MH to wash/groom her dogs so off she went and the 4 dogs.
Then another guy in a suit came by and said 'been there done that' and proceeded to get a shovel out of his MH, took his suit coat off and started digging the MH out.
Dogs got into the ring on time and won AND at the end of the day the owners of the stuck MH walked all over the site looking for all that helped them and invited us all back to their mud splattered MH for a deep fryed Turkey thank you dinner.

There is a network of helpers, though not necessarily what you are thinking of. They are called Standby Sams, a benefit of the Good Sam Club.

Yup, we are Standby Sams. Actually we just renewed our information this week for the next directory being printed. All Sam members can request a copy.
What we do is offer local information as needed, advice on where to get repairs, parts, local alternatives for camping spots if their intended place overbooked etc. and we have twice offered our own driveway for folks to *camp out* in overnight while waiting for parts or in one case it was an illness that slowed them up for a few days. They said our rural yard setting with river and quiet space was a lot nicer than the last few campgrounds they had been at!
My hubby even helped them repair a faulty hot water heater while they were sitting in our driveway!
Makes for great friends down the road someday we hope to meet up again around a campfire.

Most RVer's that we have come in contact with are typically the best people to have in your corner.
