The Potter Valley Area is part of the Lake Pillsbury Recreation Area, located in Northwestern California, about 40 miles Northeast of Ukiah. Lake Pillsbury provides a wide range of recreation activities, such as boating, fishing, hiking, and horseback riding. Nearby Hull Mountain provides a spectacular view, and a great location for hang gliders to launch from. The local wildlife is diverse, including deer, antelope, and hundreds of species of birds and water fowl. Fisherman will find trout, salmon, and steelhead in nearby Eel River and its tributaries.
