Well... There are two ways I do it

1: Watch the tank and shut off when it's full

2: Same as you

When I fill to full.. I just fill until the overflow starts to run-out. Yes, easier than going back to the monitor panel every few minutes. If the tank and fill tubes are sealed properly, this method shouldn't cause any problem.

Ditto!
Besides the monitor panel will read full, when the tank is 10-15 gal. short of being full on my 86 gal tank.

I just had one of those classic oops! I was filling my fresh water tank and got busy with something else, until about an hour later I realized what I had done. Water was gushing out of my fill door on the other side of my m/h where I can put antifreeze, bleach, etc. in it. Do you think I may had caused any damage anywhere?

Only way to tell when my fresh water tanks is full. When panel light shows full I can still fill up more.

Can only fill through city water conn. No direct tank fill.

The only thing I've ever noticed is that when I put the hose down in the fill, it can keep the water from running out and I heard some popping so keep an eye out because the hose was actually pressurizing the tank.
