Ok, my TT must have a ghost in it. I bought my '06 MaxLite 24RS used in January. I put my battery in it in early April. We didn't take it on a trip until this past weekend. When we got to the campground I noticed the radio was on. I went in a shut it off. Just thought that maybe the bouncing from the trip caused it to come on. When we got home Monday I spent the day emptying the trailer and doing stuff around the yard. The radio was not on at all on Monday. Tuesday when I got home from work and had the kids in the yard playing, I noticed the radio was on again.

What gives??? I know for sure at no point was anyone in the TT to mess with it. The radio in my TT is a Jensen. Looks like a car radio. Ideas?

Oh I had a radio that would come on with the TV remote. The TV wasn't even something that came with the camper, but if you turned on the TV, the radio would come on. I always had to keep the volume on the lowest setting, or if you turned the TV off at night the radio would come on and could scare the heck out of you.

I don't know about your unit but the tape deck in our entertainment center turns on if there's an interruption of power.........

A power surge or short in your 12V system can trigger this. I just had this problem in my TT. One of the in-line circuit breakers mounted on the tongue area had come apart and the exposed wires were touching the frame causing a temporary short. That short would trigger the radio to come on.

I would recommend checking your wiring for any shorts. Your radio may actually be warning you about an impending electrical problem.

My old trailer did it once in a while and found it was turning on by the walkie talkies we used while backing the trailer into the site at nite. Since then we use our cell phones.
