I have no experience with Jayco, but we are in our 3rd season with 32QBH Wildcat. So far, nothing to complain about. The waterpump gives us some trouble now and then, but that's a sureflo problem. I just need to break down and replace it.

I am like others and favor the Jayco not only because I have one, but I have been looking at a lot of different models lately because we are looking to upgrade at some point in the future.
I have not found anything that for the money looks better than the Jayco in product, quality and features. At this point if we replace our current Eagle it will be with another Eagle.
We came from a SunnyBrook to Jayco and have not been sorry for the change at all. Don't get me wrong the SunnyBrook was a great unit but the Jayco has also been a great unit and has provided trouble free service and is an excellent value for the dollar.

I'll throw my hat in the ring here.

Having 2 Jayco's makes me the authority right? Kidding of course.

I am sure wildcats are good, so are Jayco's, but when we shopped for a new 5er we looked at about 20 different models and always came back to Jayco b/c they just looked and felt better on the inside. I almost laughed outloud when i saw the post about some of the jayco floors. That was a very isolated event and based on the threads I saw, Jayco took care of it 100%. Jaycos do have a 2 year warranty, better than most other brands. We went from a 27BH TT to a 31.5BHDS, Eagle SuperLight...couldn't be happier. We will upgrade again, but it will probably be another Jayco.

Most of the 5ers we went in for the same price felt bare and empty. The Jaycos felt more homely if that makes sense. Fit and finish was just better. Every other brand we walked through we saw things that needed to be fixed, the dealer said, "oh well take care of that before delivery" Well if it wasn't done right from the factory, why rely onthe dealer to make it right? There was NOTHING wrong with our Jayco. Drove it off the lot and went right to a camping trip.

To the OP, narrow it down to like for like or similar floor plans then look closely at both. I think you'll agree that the Jayco offers more. I also feel like I stole mine. Traded a 1 year old TT, got 500 less than what I paid for it on trade and drove out with an 08 31.5/with hitch for right near 26K. Hard to beat that for what we got.

Ours is light, easy to tow and it looks good inside and out.

Yes I am biased towards Jayco's but living in DFW we get the advantage of having sooo many brands around to walk through, none really came close to the Jaycos. But then again, to each their own. Make the choice that fits your budget and likes.

I had 3 Jayco's so I guess I can be a authority too??

Anyway's I always thought that Jayco is built "industry standard" with "industry best" customer service.... The build of them is consistent with a mass produced unit but whenever I had a issue they always were a stand up company and helped me all the time. Even when the dealer was a putz Jayco would sidestep them and help out.

I like the Wildcat floorplans but whenever I see one at a show I am dismayed a bit at the inconsistent build quality on them. Sometimes I see one and I'm amazed at the unit (a loft floorplan I saw this past winter at Boston) then I see another at the dealer and the entire coach has such numerous issues that I'm surprised they didn't refuse delivery.

Anyway's my choice is the Jayco for price, warranty and the company itself. I would have had a 4th Jayco but at the time the local dealer was a issue. Since the local dealer was bought an acquired by a younger couple with a vested interest in it's success I think Jayco will be back on my short-list next time.

We traded in our Jayco (travel trailer 32.5 ft) for a Wildcat 5th. Can't say Jayco is all it is cracked up to be. We had the major floor problem and other little things where I would say the workmanship was not good. We wouldn't buy a Jayco again. We were very impressed with the quality in the Wildcat and hope it wears as well as it looks as we are picking it up on Wednesday.

Hello Everyone,

After all the help and hints I have decided and just bought my Wildcat. I got a 2009 30LSBS for 30% off the MSRP. It has 3 slides, ceiling fan and comes with a big flat screen and a fire place. I must say that I shopped really hard for a Jayco, but couldnt reason why pay almost 13k more for something that offered less room and less gadgets. I understand that I am getting only one year warranty with Wildcat, but at this point it suits our budget and offers more than any Jayco we saw at the same level and price. I hope we dont get disappointed.

Congrats on the purchase...you'll be happy with it. 3 Slides, yeah that would be nice to have. Now go camping!!

donarumma,

When you take delivery of your new CAT, be sure to ask the dealer about the factory extended 1 year warranty for $150 or so. It is available, they just don't tell you about it, it extends your 1 year to two.
