If you were in the market to buy a new 5th and you had a dealer that you really like to work with and gave you great a great price on your last 5th and also great service but when you went back to buy a new 5th you wanted a Cameo but he only carried Cedar Creeks. I think that both are nice units but I believe the Cameo is a better unit and a little more expensive. I'm not ready to buy yet but when I am I will be faced with this decision. The dealer with the CC is about 45 miles from home but the dealer with the Cameo is about 5 miles from home.

What are your thoughts?

If you're going to be full timing, go for the Cameo, you wont be sorry.
Good luck,

I would buy the Cameo from a equally superior dealer. You can call Carriage and ask for the short list of their award winning dealerships. I think Cedar Creeks are a nice trailer but, IMHO, a Carraige is a higher end unit more suited for full timing. Also, I have found at RV shows that Carriage puts out a consistent quality unit while many Forest River trailers seem to be hit or miss on how well they are assembled.

Of course, you will hear from people who are quite happy with their Cedar Creeks and some that full time in them. I just personally think the Cameo is a better product.

Good luck.

I would buy the one that I wanted. I would not buy one that I did not want. Good luck with your decision.

Can't the dealer you like order in the unit you want? When it is time to replace ours, we will probably make the 90 mile trip just to go back to our current dealer, versus the local dealer that we don't like...

This is a big investment in the product as it is what you will use many many hours. The best dealer is only the best IF you are satisfied and delighted by the product the dealer has to sell to you. Would you buy a house just because it was listed by a realtor friend or would you buy a house that delighted you? My vote would lean towards the Carrige product. Randy

It depends on who is paying for the thing. If the dealer is going to pay for it, get what he suggest. Otherwise, tell him to keep his mouth shut and you will purchase the rig that you like. Simple. That is how I work anyway.

Nothing makes me walk faster than a pushy sales rep.
