I worked at Fiesta Key KOA. Its a great nice campground in the Florida Keys. I would recommend to stay clear of the campground as a work camper.
There is a work camper here who looses his cool and will go off on you. The management will allow this to happen and you may even be the one to get fired, this will not help in future jobs. The manager is A young guy only 26 years old, he gets played by two of the work campers here so don't expect to be treated fairly, I was fired and I did good work.
I was warned about this place after I started working here.

I generally stick up for private KOAs, not so much with company ones.
Unless its changed the KOA in Perry still needs workampers. Site only.

We avoid KOAs, Tried them 3 times, both Company and private. We found that they treat workampers like trailer trash. Plenty of great campgrounds around to work at. It is not necessary to put up with their KOA C--P.

Our experience with KOA has been fine. In fact, we are going back to one to work this winter.

My experience has been that KOA is no different than any other campground. There are good ones and bad ones. The is no magic to putting up a KOA sign and all of a sudden it's a bad place. IMHO, a lot of folks "bad mouth" KOA because they don't like KOA's policies, rates or their program. My personal experience has been that the KOA's I've worked at expected us to actually WORK for our pay and that was an issue for some workampers.

Personally I don't stay at KOA's due to their high rates. But rvsullivan you hit the nail right on the head. There's good and bad in all CG's and in all people - you just have to find the right situation. And to expound on your comment, we should all remember: The word & the duties start with WORK.

..............Work camping experiences are ONly as good as the owners\managers are willing too make them . I'm currently at a KOA and once the owner and I worked through our minor differences , my day to day life is a pleasant experience . People are complex entities and friction and game playing can become the norm if differences aren't reconciled from the getgo .
.............Given the price of diesel I may stay here for a year or so until our economy sorts things out rather than leave after 6 months and then find I don't like my "new" job . Actually , after the owner has had a chance to see "how" I work he might improve my compensation , so we'll see how things evolve . , jf
