Well, I have a nice one to tell
My house caught fire May 7th, 2007. May 8th my TT was delivered from placing my order in FEB! I was setting up the trailer first time by myself (going to live in it for months so I better get used to it). The was an older gentleman next to us who I thought was nosy! Now I have been camping before but with tents and a pop-up so keep this in mind. I started setting things up and was doing pretty good. He was still watching me and now I start to get a little defensive.... What a woman can't do it? I go to put out the awning and it won't come out????? It must be broke I think. The gentleman walked over and gave me a few pointers and OMG I had forgotten to unlock it! I thanked him later by bringing him some of our hamburgers and corn we had cooked. People can be nice too

The only barking complaint that Hershey the Lab ever got was from a guy who said our dog "was keeping his cats awake." What the...?
The nice neighbor on the other side (who said Hershey didn't bark a bit) left a note on the guy's MH the next day that read that his cats kept her awake all night! OMG that was funny watching him read the note!
The nice neighbor and us shared a bottle of wine and some good laughs! Meow.

I keep thinking that I should post a large not on any path that looks like it goes thru our site saying that we have paid for the site and are charging rent to people who walk thru it.
I usually just hang a clothes line blocking the path and hang some bright towels from it. This would not work for treeless sites however.

I'm a new camper. Where can I get a copy of the manners handbook? I try to be courteous, but I don't want to break a camping commandment.
Thanks,

Common sense needs to be taught, it's not inherited. Don't tread on my land without permission, or you'll get it in the arse is my motto and I follow it to a fault.
We always set up for the Summer season on our land, clean up our fences, replace the no trespassing signs and set up our wall tents and get ready for our clients to arrive. Early this month, my daughters discover the wire has been cut, the signs are down and there are five squatters living in our tents!
She does the right thing, walks back out calls the police - explains the situation, where they are and what has occured. A few hours later, the police enter and haul off the squatters. The next day they appear in court and we swear out the complaint. Their court appointed attorney gets them bail and they leave. Court date set for next day, slow this time of year, mostly drunks and few bar fighters. But they leave for parts unknown and they forfeited their bail money, so a bench warrant is issued. Should they ever try to return here, they will be picked up and they will go to jail. All because they were too lazy to go to the public campground on the other side of the river from our land. They had to know about it, because they launched their boat from that public landing with the obvious signage.

Thanks 'lilhowlinwolf' and 'TXiceman' -- you've stated the crux of the problem very well. Many of the "me generation" were never taught, hence the problems within our societies today.

Most folks were pretty good-natured about it but a few were real jerks....
Suppose you shorted out and ruined $5000 worth of hearing aids on one of the guys you soaked?
Edit: fixed a typo
