Wife and I have camped all of our married life and have recently moved into the ranks of the Class A. With that, we are converting from our old ways of living while camping and want to make the MH our second home with all the ammenities of class. The one thing that I really want....real dinnerware....only issue I've not comfortably overcome, how to store them for travel without too much work and not having to superglue them back together when we get there!
Is it ok to wear a tie with shorts and sandals?

Sure you can wear a tie with shorts and sandals. In fact, you can get your tailor to make you a RV tux. As far as the dinner wear goes, I just put it in the cabinet, as i do at home. You will learn to drive to where its not in the floor. Let me know where you find the black patton sandals.

To answer your question, we use the non-slip material that is sold to line cabinet shelves. Can't recall if they make it pre-cut into circles or not but it cuts the vibration down which in our last rig made it sound like the plates were going to break.
There are also foam inserts available to hold glasses, etc.
We use glassware, real plates, etc as we spend at least 50% of our time in our rig and got tired of plastic/paper real fast.

All the fine China, we just toss in the cabinets just like at home. We do have the little rubber mat stuff in the cabinets. Never had a broken dish yet. Have been on some pretty rough roads too.
Welcome to the ranks, learn by experience and you remember it longer.

Small baskets from dollar stores work well for drinking glasses, cups in the cupboards, also stuff in the bathroom ,soap etc, just set the little baskets in the shower when on the road.

Hi,
For dinning out doors with class, just opt for a tuxedo tee shirt and a pair of white sneakers with Hi Gloss black trim from Foot Locker.
As a quick fix for anything that rattles just wrap em' in Newspaper print till you hit your destination then use the paper as a fire start for your fire pit.
When you are set to pick up stakes and head out again get a new paper and repeat.
This way you get three uses out of the paper; Read it, wrap it, burn it with no waste or litter to dump in a land fill.
(There have been other uses for Newsprint but that's a smelly, sticky subject I don't wanna touch!!)

Hurricane, We use "Corelle" brand dinerware which is light weight and does not break as easily as most dinnerware. It will break. Wife also found some plastic glasses a few years back that are light and look just like (almost) glass. Think the wife got them at Macy's. Probably paid more than glass ones, but they still look good after a few years of part time use.

Welcome to Class A camping! As many have already stated, we used a non-skid shelf liner in the cabinet and also the circular non-skid inserts to stack bowls, mugs, etc.
We also found that the Corelle line of dinnerware is lightweight, looks nice and doesn't break easily. Also, for various beverages and glassware, we bought acrylic stemware and installed a rack in an overhead cabinet where we hang the specialty stuff for wine and margaritas. We also use the plastic baskets to store other beverageware and serving items.
You don't need to spend a fortune "furnishing" you new home on wheels. This is a great time of year to purchase many items that are available in the patio/outdoor living areas of many stores as most of it is acrylic and unbreakable. Have fun!
