We store our fishing rods with these.

Picked them up in the sporting goods section at Wally World.

Like the location of the pole racks. I keep most of mine in Plano Tubes standing in corners of the 5ver as I have 10 poles from 3 1/2 foot to 13 foot. Trying to figure out a 6 inch deep x 8 inch high cabinet attached to the top of the 13 1/2 foot slide inside.

In the front compartment we use a couple of the 3 drawer plastic containers. In the basement I really like the flat plastic storage bins that are designed to roll under a bed. They are long so you don't have to climb in to pull out the shorter bins. They are stackable so we have 3 stacked and still have room for a couple of camp chairs on top.

Big box stores have so many sizes and shapes of plastic bins that I'm sure you could figure a combination to take up every square foot of storage if you wanted!

We also use plastic totes, with a similar driver/curb side configuration as noted previously. Seems to work out fairly well to get and stay organized.

I store my fishing poles upright in a washer/dryer closet and hold them in place with a small bungee cord and two cup hooks. I like my poles being inside, and access is quite easy.

One Plano tube (smaller poles) upright in bathroom between sink and toilet, one in corner between slide and pantry, several smaller poles on top of window shade box but the other poles and one of the tubes presents problems due to their lengths (9 to 13 foot). I might put a hinge on the first step to bath for storage of smaller reels. One of these days I might give up fishing. Still have to figure where to put my RC stuff besides on the table with my printers and laptop.

txcop386,
Thanks for bringing this up. We've just got our 'stuff' in the basement. Yeah, it's 'organized' by having certain things closer to the hatches for convenience, but some of the loose stuff shifts around.

The bins ideas are very helpful. I'm not a fisherman, but I'm thinking something like the fishing pole rack for keeping the 'rods' (Spare tire crank, slide-out crank, Awning hook) out of the way would clear up some floor space.
