Didn't get to see the show Sunday night, but did last night. (Wednesday) I think Drew quitting wasn't overly bright, but sitting around over 70 hours waiting for the stupid owner to give him one? Well, I won't have liked that either if it were me. But I won't have quit. Would have at least told the owner, I was here to drive, not sit around, when am I getting a truck?

The owner had pegged Drew when Drew showed up with a briefcase instead of gear to go to work. Idiot did not even bring a coat. He had to borrow one.

Drew was not ready to go to work........when the owner came in and said I have a truck ready to go it was Hugh who said "Yes, I have my hard and gear in the my truck" while Drew carried around his brief case.......I wouldnt have put Drew in a truck either. When you show up to go to work ....be ready to go to work.

Do not see Drew making it again this year. Not a real trucker at heart. Looking for the easy route and loads.

Once again, I will point out that this show is SCRIPTED , and the directors and the producer call the shots, not the "actors '.

How do the cameras all ways seem to be "right there " for all the "incidents ' ? Obviously it is staged, and designed for the TV audience. The actual trucking part of it is a sideline.

Drew made it quite clear last season that HE made the decision to leave on his own. He was not asked to leave by Hugh or anyone else. Drew and Drew alone was responsible for himself taking early leave of the ice road. He was adamant about this fact.

Several times Sunday night, announcer said how Drew was FIRED by Hugh last year.
I'm sure Drew was not too happy to hear that!

MrsSouthernCal - I also miss the two younger drivers: Jay, the seasoned driver with the family and TJ, the rookie who had to be heliported due to abdominal injury.

What makes me feel bit better about it though is that they, or probably Jay for sure, are sticking with the ice road they know and are not rallying for fame and glory via a television show and more dangerous conditions.

i also believe show is scripted,(the reason the other ice rd. did not want them back) i bet drew did not want to do it this year so they just paid him for this act. i really liked show last year, but after i read about the truth, i could not even finish the first show of this year.

Another men acting badly reality show, like Deadliest Catch. A soap opera without the sex. If you have seen one episode, you have seen them all.

Agree entirely, but (having been there) the weather is real, as are the shots of Dutch Harbor...and while it's not entirely clear in the show, more than once a crab boat that has finished its season has bought round(s) for the entire bar.

However badly one thinks of Ice Road Truckers or Deadliest Catch, just watch one (OK maybe two) episodes of The Alaska Experiment and the other two shows will look much more appealing. Paul kind of sold his soul to participate in that show.
