Someone posted a short time ago that bed flexing had caused metal fatigue and cracks opening up on their Dodge beds and were looking for cures to the problem.

No cracks here, but thicker sheet metal and an inch and a quarters worth of plywood under the camper.

I haven't noticed the frame flexing, just the camper rocking in the bed. I guess this is normal.

too tall ford,

It is normal. Coming from a fifth or tow behind trailer, the flex can be a little disconcerting at first. You will get used to it and then it becomes the norm.

The flexing freaked me out at first...Comming from TT and 5rs I wasn't used to seeing the bed and camper flex with and against each other. I just adjusted my mirrors so I can't see it unless I intentionally look for it...

I came from a pull behind toy hauler so I can relate to the flexing being disconcerting. I have only driven with the truck camper twice so far.

Too_Tall_Ford, congrats on your new camper.....
If you think your getting some movement because the camper bottom is not flat or your Truck bed is slightly out go to your local Home Depot etc and get you a sheet of high density insulation foam, not styrofoam. You may have to cut a small square out of the center of the sheet to use for matching the footprint of your camper bottom. If there is a little difference the foam will compress in the area and support your camper fully all the way around. I did this and was surprised that one corner was more compressed than the other 3. My camper seemed to be moving / rocking more than it should..

Several guys on the forum use the high density foam.

Keep us informed....

too tall,

The flex/sway reminds me of riding in a train and watching the rail cars move independently in response to the tracks. It is normal and you will get used to it.
