Well I know I said no new pics until Monday but I left out some of my travels so here are some pics from when I was in Seward.
Here's one of a bald eagle sitting right outside my camper

This is of Exit Glacier where they have trails that you can hike on up to the Glacier.

Getting up close and personal to the glacier.

While in Seward I went on one of the 9hr. cruises to see the glaciers and some of the ocean wildlife.
Here is a sea otter having breakfast

Sea Lions resting on the rocks.

This is a shot of Holgate Glacier.

This a horned Puffin preparing for takeoff.

The best part of this cruise was when the ships captain navigated through the floating bergs to get up close to Aialik Glacier.

The next series of shots are of the glacier calving. To be up close and see this was incredible, you can actually hear the glacier cracking and the roar when it calves.

I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I did taking them. This is just more of a reason to load your camper and head on up here.

Sorry to be picky Dave but birding is a hobby of mine here in Alaska and your puffin picture is actually a picture of a tufted puffin not a horned puffin. Notice the golden colored feathers or tufts streaming back on either side of the head. A horned puffin doesn't have those. The horned puffin is named that because of what apears to be horns extruding from the top of the eyes. Refer to "Birds Of Alaska" by Robert Armstrong Pages 186 and 187.
I photoshopped your photo, I hope you don't mind.

Unreal photos Dave and what an adventure you are having. Wonder if you were just lucky to see a glacier calve or, if with global warming, it happens all the time now. Beautiful blue color in one of your glacier photos.

Sockeye no offense taken as I'm not a birder and I thought he was a horned because of the fact he was diving which I thought the tufted didn't do.
Thanks Dave

To answer a few questions the mosgquites haven't been to bad except on the haul road. You couldn't step out of the truck or camper without being attacked same in Denali np.I spent three nights four days on the haul road you can do it in less but I was doing some fishing and exploring along the way. Yes it rained from the begining of the road to Antigun Pass on the way in and the way out.The road itself was in great shape compared to all the stories you hear. Most truckers and other vehicles slow way down when passing each other so it was a great ride no damage to my vehicle just covered in mud.

I finally left Fairbanks the other day headed down the Richardson Highway which connects with the the Alaskan Highway in Delta Junction. The Alaskan Highway ends in Delta Junction they have a mileage sign there I thought was interesting can you imagine what it would cost to build at todays cost. When I reach Tok I will have driven the entire 1422 miles of the famed Alaskan Highway.
Here one of the actual mileage sign

This morning when I woke up I was greated by this young fellow about 20 yds from the back door of my camper.

Then as I was driving down the road to do some fishing I spotted these two having breakfast. I think the calf was telling mom the water was over its head.

By the way the fishing was great in a secret spot that was told to me by a local man for helping him out.

..."The fishing was great..." rainbows? Or What? You realize that you represent a lot of fishermen who aren't there or can't get there.....are they on your blog?
Thanks.
