Hey, Has anyone worked at Disney World lately? We are planning to go down in October to work, and wanted to know are we free to take time off to travel or go home. We asked and they were vague about it and didn't want to push it till we been there for awhile. They also told us the only jobs available for seasonal folks are food service, maintenace.

I would like to hear this answer also. I have thought about working there. What type of commitment do they require of you.

They told us they want at least 3 days a week. October-November work the wine festival at Epcot. Dec - Jan work holdiday stuff at Magic Kingdom, Feb-March work Sports Center for Baseball. We told them we only wanted to work 2 days a week and they said they should be able to do it. We also told them we have to work the same time as we only have one car. Again they said they will work with us. PS My husband just retired as a band director and hopes to sub down there.

last year it was $6.50 and hour, no site, no guaranteed hours. We were told from 0-40 hours a week. The 0 scared us off, we need some income to pay for the site.

jokers99 , is closer to reality ! Disney is a great company and a lot of fun , if you do not need the money or do not mind an odd schedule . When it is slow , NO hours . When it is busy , No time off and TOO many hours . Campgrounds in the area are scarce , crowded , and expensive . If temp positions in the Orlando theme parks were a good deal , there would be a waiting list instead of hundreds of vacant positions available .

Everyone's needs are different. We worked there from Sept to DEC, 2-3 days a week, the same shift. We where paid $7.25 to $7.75 depending on the job. we stayed in an RV Park that was nicer and less expensive them here in Pa. All we have here is FHU. The park in Fl had a pool, hot tub and activities. We worked for the perks, passes for us and family and friends, free parking at the parks, unlimited visits for us, discounts in stores and restaurants. We had a ball. Others complained all the time. To each his or her own. Times off depends on the job and the manager. If you have questions PM me and I'll try and help. This was in 2007.
