Leaving for Iowa on July 11 from Chesapeake, VA. First night will be spent in Friendship Village (Bedford, PA) great campground. Second night will be in Richmond Indiana KOA, (on backside by the lake) another great campground. Third night will be in Story City, Iowa (Whispering Oaks campground, old but nice)
Next day, drive another 200 miles to Spirit Lake, Iowa and check in at Cenla RV park, (GREAT PARK) Spend two weeks there and then head back to VA via a different route.
DW, I and 2 Grand kids, one 17 and 1 12, they go with us every year. Keeps us young.

If you haven't seen the movie try to rent it before you go to the Field.
Field of Dreams in in Dyersville, IA, on Hwy 20, 30 miles west of Dubuque. It is well worth the visit. Dyersville also has the National Farm Toy Museum (ERTL Toys).
It looks like you will be taking I80 into Iowa and going north on I35 to Story City. I might suggest you consider the alternate route of US61 north out of Davenport to Dubuque (4 lanes) then west on US20 (also 4 lanes) to Dyersville, then on west to I35 which will be about 20 miles north of Story City.
Dubuque also has a great Mississippi River Museum.
