Carriage Cameo holding tanks are 40 gallons and not 55 gallons as claimed. They have been this size since at least 2004.

Manufacturers will often include the capacity of the hot water heater and plumbing in their fresh water specification.

The Carriage Cameo Black and Grey Water holding tanks are 40 gallons. Not talking about the freshwater tank.

That may be, but we've been living in ours for over 2 years without any problems or inconvenience.

Unless a person routinely camps with no hookups tank capacities is a moot point.
How many Carriage, or any luxury RV for that matter do you spot boondocking??

The majority of National Parks, State Parks, and Corp of Engineer campgrounds in the Northern US do not have sewer hookups so holding tank size is very much of an issue.

RvsRGreat,

Aren't you the guy who just bought a Cameo and then did testing and found this out and started a thread about how terrible this was and no one cared? I find you amusing so I'll bump your thread for you for free.

Next bump is a dolla though.

Mallo:

Don't own a Cameo but were seriously looking at them. But the small holding tanks (compared to the other quality 5ers) is a deal breaker for Cameo.

We have had our new HH since January. Could not figure out why I could go several days longer with the new HH than I could our old Carriage Cameo. With the HH I only need to empty the black tank every 8 days.

Hmm!!! More than 40 gallons in the BLACK water tank and done it in only in 8 days??? May I ask you what you are eating/drinking etc that makes that much heavy dark smelly water? We've gone over 3 weeks several times with our 40 gallon BLACK water tank on our 29' Carriage Carrilite and it's still not near full! Heck, over 8 days in our little 13 gallon black water Lance 915 Camper tank also! For the Gray water holding tank, it might be wise to try shorter duration showers and use a little dish washing water conservation too. Some people can fill an 80 gallon GRAY tank in one day with no problem. We've seen it! It takes all kinds to make the world float!!! Blub Blub Blub!

Wear your hip boots and and a life vest at the dump station, keep your mouth closed, and beware of the floods. They can be brutal!!! You'll be left standing alone and I hear it stains clothes too!!!
