Mechanically there is no difference in the vans. There are no Sprinters built in the States. They are imported partially disassembled and re-assembled.
So far all the parts that I've purchased from either Dodge or Freightliner, have come with Mercedes part numbers too.
Step bumpers are an option, according to my VIN#, my van was built without one, but it has one now, after the B conversion. I replaced it, that's how I know.
I was told that the difference might occur when attempting to get service on the road. Dodge dealers who service Sprinters will service either. However, Freightliner dealers want only to service Freightliners. Can't fool them with the badge--they look at the vin.
