I want tow a Hummer H3, 2008 behind a motorhome and according to Brakebuddy and Roadmaster company, these portable braking system cannot be used in a Hummer H3 because this vehicule is equiped with an active brake system name ELECTRO HYDRAULIC POWER BRAKE ASSYST. Someone experienced the same problem and has a solution for me. Your suggestion will be appreciated.

Thank you

According to Roadmaster the Even Brake can be used on the Hummer H3. You will also need to install the "Brake Pressure Reducer" to limit the amount of pressure the system applies to the brake pedal.

Here's a link to the pressure reducer:

http://roadmasterinc.com/products/braking/brakemaster/brake_pressure_reducer_apps.html

Roadmaster's older model (I believe it was called Ready Brake) is not recommended for vehicles with active brake systems. It was replaced by the Even Brake in 2005 before the H3's were introduced. There are still some on the shelves so be sure you're buying the latest system when attempting to use it on a Hummer.

I just ordered a new 2008 H3X...In doing some research, I came across the issue of the Brake Buddy. Even though I have a newer Brake Buddy Vantage (< 2 years old), Brake Buddy told me UNEQUIVALLY NOT to use it on the Hummer. NOTE...there is NO specific Hummer Warning on their website.

Here is a post...hope the URL Works...

I contacted Frankie Mack in Florida 813-623-1551 Extn 124. He is the MOST informed person that I have talked to and his Distributor/Dealer site has installed systems on 8 plus Hummers. I will probably go with this system and DIY...

Brake Buddy, whom I consider a great company, dropped the ball by NOT warning Hummer Owners...
