Steve, take it to another dealer. When buying my last three trucks I had three different offers on each trade in of that time. Hagerstown Ford was the winner in the last two trades as they offered me almost two grand more than the Frederick dealer.
Be sure to get what you want when you buy...I did this time and I could not be happier.

I second that. Seems like a long list of options not included. The fact that you mention them means you'll miss them. If you settle you will be trading in no time.
I like the way it works in conjunction with the transmission braking in my '06 F-350. And with triple axle disc brakes on the trailer, stopping my 26,000 lbs is no problem.

That dealer wants to be in your pocket on the way and the way out, You should expect no less than wholesale for that truck on a trade. I wouldn't give him my business if he's giving me the business!

I love mine. As others have said it is so smooth you hardly know its working. If you are buying new get the power towing mirrors and the backup camera.
RPFAN wrote: I have an 05 F450 with it. It did take a little getting used to as other have said, you can't really feel it. I also run mine near the top 9.0. Also if you are looking at a used one built prior to 3/05, they were made NOT to work under 15 MPH, even while applying manually. Ford will change it out if you complain the right way, I know, I did it.

First to the original poster. I have gone from the Jordan in my K2500 Suburban to my 2005 F350 with the Tow command. I'm pulling a little over 9,000# loaded TT. The gain is at 8.5. Which I was concerned about but it seems others are doing this as well.
The controller does work well. It is hard to have the TT lead the truck or it so smooth I can't tell. It works as one unit. Fast or slow. Edit: I messed up the who is leading who...sorry
Now to RPFAN. Yes I happen to have one of those pre march 05's and I did not realize the controller will not lock the brakes under 15 MPH. I had just adjusted the TT brakes and wanted to do a drag test on my gravel drive way to see if all 4 where even. Well it would not lock, heck it only puts out 1.5 volts.... at slow speed. I about tore the truck apart trying to trouble shoot what was wrong. I even plugged my Jordan in to test the truck wiring. Ford made it easy to unhook the power cable on the tow command and I could tap in.
Thinking I had a bad controller, I went onto the Ford Truck forum and searched. Sure enough the pre march 05's do not lock. ERRRR I also have the shop manuals on this truck and then I too looked it up there and sure enough it will not lock.
This in my mind is a problem on how in the world to do a drag test. Both on a TT or a 5'er?
RPFAN what technique did you do to get yourd changed? Did they down load a new program to it or change it?
I bought mine used last fall and did not know of the issue until this spring. I do not know how much a leg I will have to stand on to get it changed out. Folks in PA have to bring a specai letter with them to exlain to the TT inpector the brakes will not lock during TT inpection testing the brakes. Have to use the breakaway switch.
PS my 2005 also has a grade braking in tow haul mode when you tap the brakes and slow down. Works good. The 5 speed works good too.
Thanks
John

I`m no finacial wizzard but, that`s how I see it too. Regardless of what I payed or how much I owe, the truck still has intrinsic market value. Granted, it may be lower right now because trucks aren`t moving, but I think 17k is just rediculous. And interest is up to 7.99. I`m locked in at 1.9 right now. I haved seached high and low for a trade, both locally and on the internet, and V-10s in any configuration are like hens teeth. I may have to order one if I really want one. I went through about 30 pages of Ford regional inventory online and came up with zilch, so I think the dealer is being straight with me on availability.

If your looking for a f-250 or f-350 with a v-10 there's a bunch here in Minnesota, I bought a new one last week and finally got a chance to tow my trailer today and wow what a difference from my 02 250 v-10 this new one pulls it nice have my integrated brake controller set at 4.0 and it stops it like a dream.
