Looking at getting a dual cam sway control to add to my wd hitch. Worried about how it will react to when truck is twisting one way and trailer another???? Don't want to spend the money on a totally new hitch (equa-l-izer).
thanks roger

Never had a problem.
Wait, shouldn't say "never". I had a problem on a paved road once. Hung a u-turn on a narrow road and cut it too close. It caused one of the WD bars to fall off. I didn't notice until it was too late. I went back, but never found the bar. Called Reese and they said it was their defect. They sent me out a new bar and a new replacement hitch head to fix the problem.
No more trouble on or off road.

That's what I have. The only thing that the dealer said to me was to make sure you disconnect the WD bars before going offroad. I like the way it eliminates the need for a friction sway bar and I have had no problem with it so far.

I would not even consider towing my trailer with the bars disconnected( 30ft 11,000lbs). So that is not an option.

Regardless of the brand of WD hitch, I think the major concern is going through a deep dip. This puts extreme stress of everything and could over-flex and bend the WD bars, bend the trailer frame, bend the TV frame, etc.

I have a similar sized trailer (28'/12000 lbs) and I have never had a problem off road. I leave them hooked up tight and I am not exactly easy on them. I have done some pretty good twisting too. They work great on road too.

I have taken my bars off for a few short off road trips. I doubt it will hurt anything for tight U-turns or getting the trailer to that great dry camping spot.
Getting there is half the fun....

i've been told to pull the bars when going off highway... however, i rarely listen to what i'm told. I have only pulled them off once at pismo to put some weight on the rear axle. Never had a problem using them off road.... even down Rasor Rd...
I have seen a class A pulling an enclosed that bent it's tongue bad with it's wd bars on.... not a pretty sight.
