When we had our FS2600 I remember reading in the trailer paperwork that damage may occur if the bars were not removed while off road. So I bought a hitch that would handle the trailer (30ft. 11,100 Lbs.) without the bars if needed. I only removed the bars when I would be on a surface worse than the road. but always used the bars on the road.

thanks roger
I've never figured out when it actually happens but I've had it try to pull the right hand snap-up bracket off the frame. I'm on my third one. My best guess is its when the truck goes over something uneven and the trailer remains flat and it pulls the chain extra tight and its just too much for the bracket to handle.
I also had it happen going from S. Cal to N. Cal on the I-5, had alot of bounce and it tryed to pull one off then. Doesn't explain why the right only though.
