Here you go. I will leave this running as long as it stays on topic and doesn't go somewhere off the reservation on us.

I don't see nothing to lead it. Is this about fishing in Canada and Alaska or staying on some Reservation?

I don't understand why any fisherman would lie about his catch. I've fished Canada many a time and always had good luck. They have some great places to fish. There's got to be some stories that someone wants to tell.
Maybe about the time and friend was fishing and caught the plug in his arm and wouldn't let them cut the barb off to get it out but cut his arm and remove the plug. It was such a good plug.

We put our little 14 ft. boat and 6hp motor in Valdez Bay and went Pink salmon fishing. Now there were so many fish it wasn't very hard to catch them but when the wife caught a big humpie he ran under the boat and broke here rod in half. It was early in the trip so she fished the rest of the morning with half a rod and still caught all the fish she wanted. We now have that half rod hanging on the wall in the den with a picture of her fishing with it. Doesn't get any better than that.

Friend and I got dropped off in Simpsons Bay out of Cordova for pink salmon so
I got out my ultra lite stuff. Had my 5 ft rod with 2 lb test Stren line and thought I had snagged a halibut with my little rooster tail and fought it for more
than 45 minutes; even followed/towed it around for a while. We ended up "shovelling" it into the boat. Happened to see some folks using a guide and asked
him what it was as I don't know one from another. Turns out it was a king salmon
and the guide asks if I was using the Stren line he spots on my rod as it was yellow. I tell him its 2 lb test. He informs me that Stren has a contest going
whereby anyone using their line and catches a new world record line record gets
$10,000 but it needs official verification. He would call in a plane for $75 to
pick it up and another $75 to have it checked out. I had weighed it on my "De-liar" which only went to 50 lbs. It was well over that and the guide didn't know what the 2 lb line record was for Kings. To make long story short; cheap
Dutchman that I am I didn't want to spend the $150 so I cut it up and ate some of it and froze and sent it home. Turns out the world record at that time was 49 lbs. I keep telling myself that the "De-liar" must have been wrong!!!

I don't have a real good fish story other than the entertainment value of looking at the hospital bulletin board with pictures of fishermen/women that needed a hook removed.
I thought i'd post a link to the "Sport-fisheries" section of the Alaska State Game and Fish website. Lots of good information on licensing requirements and other regulations. There is a section called Emergency Orders that announces changes to the rules. For instance, the state is now allowing bait to fish for kings in the Kenai River (one month early) because the early king run is doing so well.

Good luck fishing and stay off the hospital bulletin board!

Well maybe someone will enjoy reading this but its not Canada or AK.
Just got back from Bull Shoals and was fishing for walleye. We have a small dachshund and she goes crazy when we catch a fish. Trying to bit it and any thing else.
Wife had it it in net and I was trying to remove the plug, dog jumps up bits fish and brakes line dropping fish into boat. Plug and fish fall and plug catches dog in rump, now dog's on one hook and fish on other. Grab dog hold down pulled fish off plug (good thing fish just lay in boat and did not flap around) and then removed dog from plug.
