I have been on a few park websites and I am not seeing any mention of pets. I am aware that in some Canadian PP pets are not allowed.
We are doing the circle route of Superior in a few weeks and would like to stay in some PP. The first one that caught my eye was Pancake Bay. I can't find any reference to pets on their website.
I am hoping someone can set me straight on the issue.
thanks.

As far as I know, all the provincial parks accept dogs. I've been to Pancake Bay with ours, no problems. Some do have 'no pet' loops though.

This is quoted from the Ontario Parks FAQ:
DOGS/ PETS
Q: Are pets allowed in Ontario’s provincial parks?
A: Pets are allowed in all parks – with the exception of designated campground areas in Awenda, Balsam Lake, Pinery and Voyageur and Achray, Canisbay, Mew Lake and Pog Lake campgrounds in Algonquin. Pets must be on a leash not exceeding 2 metres (6 feet) in length and are not permitted in swimming areas or on beaches or roofed accommodation sites. Pet owners should ensure that their pets are not left unattended, are properly leashed, do not make excessive noise and that any waste is cleaned up. Many parks now offer pet exercise/beach areas. Parks that offer these areas are listed below:
PET EXERCISE & BEACH LIST
Northwest Region
Aaron Beach only
Blue Lake Beach only
Neys Beach only
Pakwash Beach only
Northeast Region
Driftwood Exercise only
Esker Lakes Exercise and Beach

Pinery Beach only
Point Farms Beach only
Turkey Point Exercise only
Port Burwell Beach only
Southeast Region
Bon Echo Exercise and Beach
Sandbanks Beach only
Sharbot Lake Exercise only
Central Region
Arrowhead Exercise and Beach

Grundy Lake Exercise and Beach
Killbear Exercise and Beach
Mikisew Exercise and Beach
Oastler Exercise and Beach
Restoule Exercise and Beach
Sibbald Point Beach only
Wasaga Beach Exercise and Beach
Algonquin Exercise and Beach
Please check with the Park staff upon arrival to ask exactly where the beach and/or exercise areas are.
Hope this helps.

No problem. I also have a golden retriever (Quincy) who loves camping too. Especially the food...he loves marshmallows!

WE take our britanny camping to the PP's all the time... Our big joke is that the rules say she must be leashed on a leash no more than 6 feet, which she has, but we just don't attach the other end to anything... as long as we're on the site of course... She never goes anywhere...

I wish I had a dollar for every time I was harrased by a dog that the owner sweared "never went anywhere" or "is always well behaved" or "is really friendly".

My wife grew up in a third world country where wild dogs are everywhere. She has leg and arm scars from her childhood where she was attacked by dogs. She carries a stout wooden stick with her, when we go camping, for loose dogs, and she has no hesitation to smack any dog that comes with-in 5 feet of her.
That PP rule is for YOU to obey, and if your dog gets smacked in the head, off leash , it will be your fault, not the dog's.

We travel with three dogs. They are ALWAYS leashed or in an X-Pen. We also have muzzles on hand for all three just incase they start to bark.
We understand that we are not the only people on the campground and that others want to relax and have a nice weekend just as much as we do.
Side Note: In more cases they only bark when a kid comes running onto our site to pet the dogs (leash rule should apply to some children in our eyes) or if one of those "my dog doesn't wonder" dogs come onto our site, and then who gets blamed............. you guessed it, our dogs.
