Ok here we go again with another TV question! Has or does anyone tow with a Geo Tracker? We have a 1997 Geo Tracker and were wondering how it would work as a TV for out 12 foot popup. The van we were looking into fell through (was a piece of CRAP!) which leaves just a smaller car to tow with. The Tracker has a tad more room and 4wd. Any opinions? Thanks!

I had a Tracker, which I used to tow a utility trailer. I once pulled a 4X8 trailer with a pile of manure, that must have been a ton or so, and it was a bear!!! Now, I didn't have brakes on the trailer, which might make a difference, but the Tracker isn't really much of a tow vehicle...just too light! Great little vehicle...loved ours! They make great Toads....but I'd recommend pulling one, rather than pulling with one!

If you already have the trailer, maybe you can get the seller to let you try taking it around the block (and up and down a few hills!!) with the trailer!

The towing capacity of a 1997 Tracker is 1000lbs. A motorcycle style pop-up trailer would work and thats about it.

People I know love their Tracker, but as others have stated, they are not really good tow vehicles - Too light and too short of a wheelbase. You could tow a very small tent trailer or an Aliner Alite such as I tow with a 2.2L Subaru Legacy.

Weight under 500 lbs, but you will definitely know its back there going up the hills.

Geo Tracker, AKA Barbie Jeep tow a 12 foot pup? Maybe across a parking lot, but certainly not on the road. And I'm a big fan of light duty tow vehicles for light duty trailers!

you could maybe get away with a 8ft striped down pup but not much more i had the 97 susuki and it was a great little unit but the short wheel base is the death of towing sorry
