Absolutely. I have towed the TT in my signature across that a couple of times, very nice road. High Desert mostly, but I like that scenery.

Thanks...Google Map showed it looking pretty windy through the mountains, so wanted to make sure. Jan

Yes, there is a windy section but very doable.

Jan - take a look at the route through John Day. I think it is a better road, although both will be somewhat curvy in spots.

Burns to Ontario is fine, I've pulled my 30' with suburban several times. Roads in nice shape too. John Day route isn't bad either but Burns route road will be wider nearly the entire way.

I was on that road 3 weeks ago taking my old 34' 5th wheel to a couple that bought it in Bend. Very pretty this time of year and very easy to pull with a big rig.

We drove that road with our 40' and toad last year, nice drive. There is a RV park on the east side of Burns. No cheap fuel between Bend and Caldwell.

It's a good hwy. It would be a shame to drive it and not go about 60 miles south from Burns for a couple of days around Frenchglen...Malheur NWR...Steens Mountain Loop...Historic Frenchglen Hotel....Peter French's round barn built in the 1880's...It's just a neat place. The Steens Mountain Resort is at Frenchglen, with hookups. The owner, Josh Warburton, will tell you all about the Kiger Mustangs, and other mustangs, that inhabit the Steens.

Thanks, everyone...just did the drive...beautiful! Lots of wildflowers today.
"jabbott"...we've been to that area before...in fact had a flat tire on the road around the NWR.
Stayed at the Burns RV park on the east side...been there before and have liked it. Only 3 50amp pullthroughs, so you'd better always reserve.
Thanks for the advice, everyone...Jan
