Sound and movement is another story, So really depend on what type of privacy your looking for.

We just shut the curtains and no problem, It is very private. I really have never given much thought about it till now as we are usually dressed in the morning before I even open the curtains. We shower at the CG facility, always dressing after showering. At night before bed we usually change after shutting the curtains for the night. During the night we have a small night light that has a low glow so even if curtains are opened for sleeping no one can see in. I honestly think people are to busy doing there own thing than looking at you.

The outdoors is a wonderful place to be....

If you enjoy sleeping late you should avoid warm climates where the curtains need to be open for ventilation. I was surprised by our PUP neighbors when I exited our tent last summer. At least he slept in shorts.

Shadows can be a problem, keep the light low (candles or dim LEDs). Just keep a mind on that before adult activities, or your friends in the neighboring campground will completely embarass you in the morning.

With the 2005 Rockwood and the 2007 Starcraft you can't see shadows even with the bunkend lights on. The only way you will see shadows if something is laying directly on or next to the tarp, otherwise, no shadows.

There is complete visual privacy but as a tent, no sound privacy. So just keep that in mind when using a loud TV or talking loudly about something you would rather keep inside your PUP.

Have a good one.

As others have stated...depends on the privacy needs you are speaking of. We change in our bathroom...no asking people to leave or awkward changing on the bunk end. Or...pull the curtains as suggested.

I haven't had any problems with privacy in my PUP - just close the drapes, or keep the lights off so you don't cast a shadow. If I've got 'nearby' neighbors, it's curtains, otherwise, I can sit on my sofa and change clothes or even step into my shower and change.

Only once did I have 'privacy issues', and that was at a campground where we were packed like sardines.....I could hear the neighboring PUP family - he snored and the kids had a bodily noise contest! They could hear us coughing and sneezing. So, we drowned them out with the fan portion of the AC.

We also just made to move from a TT to a PUP. I'm not concerned at all about privacy. We had a PUP once before and we just closed the curtain while we were changing and at night.

Many of the larger PopUps also have a privacy curtain that attaches to the ceiling and sections off the area near the potty/shower. It creates a private "changing room" area within the PopUp. So, even if others are inside, there is still a bigger separate private changing area, besides the shower curtain.

The fabric used for curtains in a Fleetwood is backed by opaque plastic. It diffuses light to the point that you cannot get a shadow show unless you are actually touching it. The Fleetwood sunbrella tenting can provide a shadow show if there is a very strong light source, however, there is so little of of the tenting that is not covered by curtain fabric that it's a non-issue. Also, the interior overhead lights are not in a position to cast a shadow at the bunk ends, (probably the most susceptible areas for a shadow show in a Fleetwood PopUp).
