What's your little dog's name? Just curious....
Anyway you certainly have our prayers and please let us know as soon as you can after the surgery.
I hope...no, I'm sure she'll be fine and actually better than ever.

Dear Sher 9570 my little dog's name is Neely Jean. My mother's name was Frankie Jean McNeely. I lost her after a lengthy illness this past January. She loved our previous little yorkie so. I got Neely before she died and named her after her because I thought it would bring her some joy. You can see why this dog feels so special to me. Thank you for asking. Thanks to all who have responded. You all have been a very positive support for me. I will let you know how she is doing next week. Thanks for your prayers.

Neely Jean...I like it. That was a touching tribute to your Mom, I'll bet she was pleased, I'm sorry for your loss, I know how hard that is, you only get one Mom and it's never the same after their gone.
We got a new Lab pup last October, my Mom's name was Alexis Lucille, my husband wanted to name her Lucy after my Mom, it's funny because no one ever called her Lucy but we couldn't name a dog Lucille, so Lucy it was.
Anyway, will be thinking of Neely Jean on Monday.

Neely is resting better than I expected. She obviously is in pain but her medication is helping. I boiled her some chicken and rice and she ate that. She doesn't move except to empty her bladder, but she understands to lie quietly. That is as long as she can see someone sitting near her. She does not want us to leave the room. The doctor said when he got inside her leg that she did not have Perthes disease. He says, he feels, that this dog had some sort of injury early in her life. He says this could have damaged the growth plate and caused her leg not to develop properly. He said the reason he thinks this is he expected to have to detach the ligament and it was already torn loose. The bone appeared fractured. I told him this little puppy had never been out of my sight unless she was in her pen and nothing had ever happened to her. The doctor said it could have happened when she was still with her mom. He said it was possible it could be some sort of congenital defect as she has never been able to wag her tail either. However, after seeing inside her leg he feels that it was accident related. I wonder if this poor baby has been in pain all her life. It is tough having to watch her hurt so, but the bright light in all this is maybe in a couple of weeks she won't be hurting so much anymore. Thanks to all of you for all your concern. I will let you know in a few days how she is recovering.
Here is a picture of Neely with her two best buds...my daughter's cat Mr. BOjangles and her Chihuahua "sister" Weezer.
