While backing my 31' Itasca Spirit into the driveway, I used the rain gutter over the garage to stop it Needless to say, I now need to repair the rear ladder. My idea is to remove the ladder from the coach; very carefully straighten the vertical tube on the driver's side, which is just slightly bent; very carefully straighten the passenger side tube, which is more severly bent and also broken in two at the screw that holds it to the horizonal 'stand off' from the body. Then, I plan to insert a piece of 3/4" rigid copper tubing inside of the 1" aluminum tube, secure it with pop rivets, and redrill the hole for the 'stand off' screw. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to repair it or suggestions to use with my method?? All suggestions are appreciated!! A new ladder is $250 plus shipping
