Recently purchased an 08 Explorer Sport Trac, had the dealer install the neutral tow kit but did not receive any instructions on how to engage the switch, can someone share their start-up procedure?

Thanks

Had an older model, instructions were in the manual in the section were it tells you the modification. If I remember you had to switch 4x4 selector on the dash and hold it for a few seconds for the light to come on. I think that was it, has been sometime since I had the vehicle.

Happy RVing

You better get the correct directions from the dealer, not from some one here who THINKS they know how to work it. Too much to go work and many $$$ out of your pocket if you do it wrong.

Thanks johng but manual for the 08 suggests contacting dealer for further instructions. Did find some reference elsewhere on the net but was hoping for something more definitive before contacting Ford.

We have an 03, and the dealer installed the directions on the top of the sun visor. If they are not there contact the dealer.

Go back to the dealer. The NTK should have come with 3 sets of instructions. One to be placed in the vehicle operating manual, one to be placed over the sun visor and one to be placed under the hood to warn mechanics that NTK is installed on the vehicle.
I could tell you how to work but yours may not be the same

I agree with those that suggest you contact the dealer. I don't think anyone is trying to avoid a specific procedure it's just that there have been slight differences from one year to another.

Thanks for all the input, dealer installed the warning in the engine compartment and the driver warning instruction under the visor, I neglected to look at the obvious.
