In my weekly post on the Official Blog of the Open Road I'm talking about casino comps, specifically discount coupons. Take a look, and come back here to post your own experience, questions, or comments.
We stop at the Atari Casino on I 155 at Caruthersville. They have given us 2 free nights and two free meals for two different months. Its $ 17.12 a night to stay. Also $ 10 coupons each for two nights. We never stay longer than one night at a time. We're not big spenders either, may $50. I'd like to see more posts on this. CharWan Happy Trails
MacManOne everybody must want to keep them comps to their selves. I sure was hoping some would post with some. We also stayed at the grand at Hinchkly MN. one night and got free meals.
On the subject of casinos, my wife is extremely allergic to cigarette smoke. Does anyone know of any casinos anywhere that are completely "no smoking"?
Smoke free casinos is a bit off topic but an interesting subject nevertheless. I am not aware of any casinos that are 100 percent smoke free. The ones in Kansas City are getting closer as the city struggles with new anti-smoking laws. All the casino restaurants are now smoke free. There are rumors the new casinos on the Kansas side of the border (to be built) may be entirely smoke free. We will have to wait and see.
It's not a coupon, but at the Horseshoe in Bossier City, DH always plays cards enough to get comp'd for at least one nice dinner for 2. One of the dealers told him the same chef prepares the steaks and fried shrimp for the regular restaurant as for their fancier restaurant so it's the same plate you'd get in the fancier restaurant. We've had their steak & shrimp plate several times. I don't gamble, so DH gets the meals "to go" and brings them outside and we eat in the rv. BTW I eat my shrimp, salad, and potato, and I put the steak in the fridge. I cut the steak up later for nachos or omelets. YUM!
