I got to have my Sirius radio. Classic Vinyl, Nascar, Howard, NFL, Country and more at a push of a button. Perfect for those road trips, never without music or sports.

We switched from Sirius to XM and are much happier with the music programming. But, it's a personal choice, so listen to both. Check out their programming web sites, too, as XM has specialty programs which you might like at certain times.

I love my XM. I have it in both of my cars and listen to it on Direct TV at home and in my MH. If I had to do without it, it would be greatly missed.

I love my XM ... would not be without it at home, in my cars, or in my MH.

We have Sirius. We love it because we can now listen to NASCAR races and not miss a race. Before Siruis we missed races because of poor reception on TV or local radio or unable to get the race at all. Also lve the NFL channel, Classic Radio and our Country stations. We can also listen to the news when we are camping too.

I can understand the switch for specialty programming reasons, but exactly what music is on XM that isn't on Sirius?

LOL! When we got our Navion it was equipped with Sirius and 6 months of service. There was some sort of mix-up with our radio and it took some time to get it activated but ultimately the service manager at our dealership got me on the phone with Sirius' manager of Boat & RV service. (He gave me his personal cell number . . fairly impressive customer service.) Anwway . . we ultimately got it activated.
I too swore once it expired I would never pay for radio. But suddenly I found I really enjoyed not having to re-tune the radio every 50 miles and find new programming. Especially since all the radio stations these days play the same 30 songs over and over. You'd hear one song then lose the station and re-tune and suddenly there is that song again.
Then there are the commercials and the talk!
So not only have I kept my Sirius subscription in the MH (we love prime country, jazz cafe, and Blue Collar Radio), but I plan to add it to my car. I gotta modify my car radio though. I have a 50 minute drive to work. In 50 minutes I might hear 1 or 2 songs. Why is it these DJs think we want to hear them yap at us? And the stuff they talk about! It is ridiculous!

Satellite radio, like generators, house batteries, holding tanks, water tanks & solar panels, may not be very important to you if you stay close to the rest of the population in RV parks. If you get out and away, like - the Yukon, N.W.T, Big Bend, or down in Mexico you'll LOVE it.

I drive an hour and twenty minutes to work and the same home every day. Will not live without my Sirius radio ever again. NPR gives me my news on the hour, and the music channels are really commercial free. Once in a while some sweet sounding girl comes on and tells me what station I'm listening to, but that's it. Once in a great while the trees will zap it off for a second ot two, but it is rare for me.
Oh yeah, I'm listening to it right now on the computer while I'm writing this.
I'm sold.

The programming that originates with XM or Sirius will be commercial free (excepting the station ID messages that seem to occur between every song). Programming that originates elseware, like FOX news, CNN, talk radio will contain commercial breaks. XM and Sirius have no control over that. Just consider it as part of the deal ($) of being able to receive those national feeds everywhere you travel.
I have Sirius and like all the variety depending on the mood I'm in.
