John,
Have you considered gettng the gang together? Two years ago, we had six couples from a particular CG in Florida who met at Deer Meadows in western PA. Several drove quite a distance, although that could be a factor now with outlandish fuel prices. Three nights of campfires and potlucks, and floating down the Clarion River in a canoe. Great fun.
We have since changed locations (southeastern FL to southwester FL), and before we left I was informed that several of the PA residents (all RVers) planned a get-together every summer. This will be our first with the new group, and we're looking forward to it.

I asked a friend whether she liked winters in Texas better than summers in Iowa and we both came to the conclusion that winters down south are a little more fun. Not a lot but a little.

fchammer1 that is a good Idea and I would love to do that, but with the price of gas not sure if any would come, my one buddy is from western Pa but the rest are from all over the U S, but I think would be fun.

Why not schedule a summer reunion. We have just done that with 6 couples who live fairly close (under 200miles) at our house, and have told them we have xtra sleeping room if they want to stay the night. Leave the RVs home, and save the fuel cost.

I think the difference is that when you're at home, you're "living", whereas when you're in your snowbird destination, you're "living it up". It's the vacation and party feeling that makes the difference.

We live in Ontario Canada and attended a club rally last week. About 6 of the couples at the rally are Winter Texans and all are planning to return to the Rio Grand Valley next winter. It was fun to be together and talk about the good times we had last winter. We convinced ourselves that living is cheap once we get there. I sure miss the grapefruit! Six months to wait.

We miss being in South Texas. Haven't had much fun since we got home. When we come back home we have more responsibility. When we're in the valley we are totally free.
